Ashland, New Hampshire -- Glynn House Inn On a quiet tree-lined street in a residential section of Ashland you find the Glynn House Inn, a Victorian home made into an elegant inn. Skillful redecoration has taken this lovely inn onto a new plateau. The living room and the dining room are gracious places to relax or to enjoy the inn’s full gourmet breakfast. The air-conditioned guestrooms, furnished with queen beds and period antiques, all have TV/VCRs, many have a combination tub and shower, and twelve rooms have fireplaces. Eight rooms enjoy double whirlpool spas. The décor in all is very attractive and features Victorian wallpapers. Of the thirteen guestrooms (seven deluxe suites, one junior suite and five bedrooms) one favorite is the first-floor room with its two-person spa tub and two wing chairs facing the gas fireplace in front of the queen bed, which was topped by a black-and-white toile comforter. The full gourmet breakfast served in the dining room is a real treat since the room is so graciously inviting, as is the adjoining sitting room where afternoon tea is served daily. There are many things to enjoy in this area but Squam Lake is one of the best. Skiing, tennis, golf, fishing, hiking, antiquing, and traveling back-country roads in the fall foliage season would be added reasons to make Glynn House a place to stay. Directions: Take I-93 to exit 24 to Ashland. Turn left on Highland Street to the Inn.
